The Way We Were: Structural Operational Semantics Research in Perspective

This position paper on the (meta-)theory of Structural Operational Semantic (SOS) is motivated by following two questions: (1) Is SOS dying out as a research field? (2) If so, it possible to rejuvenate this field with redefined purpose? In article, we will consider answers those questions first analysing history EXPRESS/SOS workshops and data concerning authors presentations featured in editions well their subject matters. The results our quantitative qualitative analyses all indicate diminishing interest theory research.
